in our house arashi goes by the name of AIBA. they kinda thought of AIBA is the bands name, well maybe because i keep blabbering about aiba all the time.

then there is this chat my family have whenever we are all gathered around for dinner. well it goes like this...

dad: whats that band called again? AIBA?

sister: its arashi

*then dad would sing a-ra-shi a-ra-shi.....*

me: oh stop mocking them

sister: you should join us sometime when we sing and dance along

brother: you guys are sick

hehehe that how things normally goes in my house. i actually like it when dad pretends to get in to the whole arashi vibe just to piss me and my brother off.

gah!! my family doesn't like Arashi... huhu... T_T I've been doing everything so that at least they would listen to Arashi's songs, but to no avail, I always fail. T_T I don't have anyone to talk to when it comes to the boys... T_T

My mom, even though I know that she's one of them, when I call her to watch Ohno's moves, she wold sit beside me and comment about how beautiful his moves were. ^^

I'm happy with just that... At least my mom's giving me little support... ^^

And that's why I envy those whose family likes Arashi...

not coming from japan, my parents are not into jpop at all, but ever since i got into arashi, they've been hearing a lot of their songs at home. recognizing arashi as my 'hobby', they don't really bother me about it, and i even heard my mother singing arashi~ one time. XD

when my father asked me why i don't have a boyfriend yet, i jokingly said that i would have to meet arashi in person first. XD

My mum just sums it all up as part of my obsession of my buying CDs. She doesn't ask much. Nor does my dad.

Only my sister knows my obsession, and she doesn't really care XD

My family thinks that I am nuts for "wasting that much time and money" on them. Ahh well, It seems like my youngest brother enjoys them too. So, it's good to have a partner-in-crime. Hahaha. But I know my brothers enjoy watching their variety shows with me.

I caught them watching when they were trying hard to pretend they were not.

At first when i started listening Arashi my mom was like "What the heck is this?!" but then she slowly getting used to it... and so my father and sister...
But my mom really concern about the money i spent for Arashi stuffs where actually i also concern about it but i can's help it, I JUST CAN'T!

Honestly my dad hates them since i keep babbling about them and staring at thier pixx
I show my mom some of thier vids once in a while and she thinks their good, but either ugly/skinny/girly then i get mad and don't show her any more vids ._.
My sister also thinks like my mom. Cept she thinks they just look ugly or girly. (Even though her boyfriend is a ugly korean guy D<)
Lol yeah that basically what my family thinks about them.

to my dad: he doesn't know about Arashi 'cuz he's always in Calamba, Laguna (one of the provinces here in the Philippines) because of our business.... but he knows that i've been downloading japanese stuffs XD

to my brother: he knows about Arashi because i always play Arashi songs, play Arashi clips and use arashi pics as my wallpaper in my laptop XD sometimes (or should i say, most of the times ), he caught me "flailing" or "drooling" infront of my laptop XD but i think he used to it already 'cuz i've been doing that stuff since i met F4 (the taiwanese boy group )

to my mom: honestly, i don't know what will i answer here but to understand the reason why is that my answer, i'll give you a short intro about it :p

since F4 became phenominal here in Philippines (because of Meteor Garden), my mom became a fanatic fan of them (yes... seriously.... if i'm a fan, she's a fanatic... i swear) as in she bought the photobooks, cds, vcds, and whatsoever of F4 XD

but when my friend introduced to me and told me to watch Hana Yori Dango (because she knows i love meteor garden, for sure i'm going to love also HYD story because it is really based on the manga), i watched it with my mom and we both liked it but when i starting to love Arashi (because of jun), i thought i can influence again my mom to Arashi (because that's what i did to her in F4 ) but i didn't succeed! she stays with F4

sometimes, we were debating between Arashi and F4!!!! my mom will say that i'm traitor to F4 (which is not true! i still love F4 even i'm an Arashi fan right now) and she will use/say the Historical event between the japanese and the filipinos! >___< but there are times that my mom will praise and appreciate Arashi XD like when i'm watching tv performances of Arashi, she will also watch it then give good comments about them and she supports me on buying Arashi stuffs too sometimes, i going to hear my mom humming an Arashi song or she will dance when i play an Arashi song

so that's the reason why i can't give a clear answer about my mom's "point of view" to Arashi XD

in my family, my sister "hates" them but secretly, i bet she loves arashi. She loves all of the dramas Arashi has been in. When i'm watching a new drama, she's like "what is that? A new arashi drama?" and i said, "yeah" and she said, "Oh, cool.." And the next thing i know, she's watching the same drama as me on her laptop... But the totally weird thing is, we never actually talked about arashi seriously before, we just talk about their songs and dramas, not them in person... a little disappointing.. but whatever

as for my mom, she hates them.. maybe not hate but she loves SMAP.. well i guess different generations!

as for my dad, whose living in japan right now (i live in the states.. i'm planning to join him in the next year or two) should probably know who arashi is because of all the dramas, movies, cms arashi has been in, but probably doesn't know how much of an arashi lover his daughter is

hmmm.. maybe on the situation of watching dramas.... 'cuz when my mom caught me watching jdoramas she will ask me "what drama is that?" then i'll explain to her the synopsis then her next question "is that domyunji?" (but she's referring to jun... and mostly of my dvd dramas are from jun :p) then i will say "yes ma... actually his name is jun" but she keep on saying domyunji... actually i'm still curious why my mom keep on saying "domyunji" if "jun" is easier to say and to remember XD

anyway....

after her "short interogation" she will sit beside me then she will watch with me until i finish the drama XD

but even she watched some of dramas from Arashi members, still, my mom don't mind them and keep on praising F4 XD

my mom keep on saying je boys look like a girl, everytime she saw them on my laptop... she said they dont look manly... but they are adorable haha... my younger sister like them too but my older sister is not a fanatic like me and my younger sister... my brothers are totally against them... i bet they are just jealous with them... haha... oooo, i also have cousins who share the same interest with me

My Dad is shocked since I listen to heavier music (Rock, Punk, Metal, etc) and Arashi is not at all like that!!! I don't think my dad believed me when I said I liked them actually. I think he thought I was joking which makes me laugh. I did tell him that their concerts are mindblowing from what I've seen so maybe I'll show him parts of one tonight!

My mom... I don't think she cares really, she's never heard them or anything so she has nothing to go by.

when i wash the dishes in my house i'd play my ipod which is full of Arashi songs and just listen to it while i wash, they get a hang of it.. my dad even sings "Love Situation" and when he'd go to my room to wake me up for school, i'd catch him looking at my Arashi posters.. AHHA. and he'd be like "Nica, wake up your japanese boys are calling you" or he'd be like "what is all these girl-guys doing? staring at you like that!" YEss i get pissed at my dad whenever he says they look like girls. i keep telling him they are NOT NOT NOT NOT gay!!! ><" its just cuz i think Arashi has pretty eyes and their hair is amazing. ahah.
i think my dad and mom knows
that i'll be someday marrying a non-filipino..so like someone like Ohno. may not be like him, but the same rough draft ;D

my mom thinks that i'm going to japan only to look for Sawada Shin (she watched Gokusen with me and yess the turning point for my arashi fangirlism) and his band (Arashi) haha. but thats not completely true.. only 75% true xD the other 25% is trying to look for Ohno's house ;D ahaha.
but all in all, they got used to me xD i even call them Otousan and Okasan every once in a while. xD

Well, this is sort of hard to say since I don't live with my parents anymore.
I've mentioned that there's this japanese band I like to listen and they would say things like 'Why japanese? Do you even understand it?'. But that's all.
Lately I have studied hiragana and katakana (to better understand our boys, of course! ) and my mom says she doesn't understand why I bother..

But as I said this attitude of theirs does nothing to me since it's not their money I spend on Arashi..
Ah, also this happened: I was watching Letters from Iwo Jima at my parents house little while ago and my mom watched too and she doesn't really like war movies..
I still seriously doubt I get her to be any kind of fan of Arashi..the last band that I know she's been a fan of was the Beatles, me thinks..

Dad: He loved one episode with D no Arashi (When Meguro-san was there) and he's happy that I listen to.. softer music. Cause once upon a time the only thing I did listen to was death/black metal, punk and such stuff.

Mom: She doesn't care so much. She's always working so. But just a few minutes ago when I was listening to Kimi no Tame ni Boku ga Iru she was humming to the song.

Oldest brother: He would hate them. Cause he's freaking sceptical when it comes to music. Same as my younger oldest brother.
