What is this "organising" that you speak of? I'm lucky if the discs are actually in the right box half the time!
My CDs actually get quite a lot of play because I dance around my flat with the stereo on when Im getting dressed in the morning, doing housework, packing for a trip etc
The CD that's currently in my player is SMAP's MIJ.
The last Arashi CD I played was 5x5 2 weeks ago when I was packing for a business trip.

I'm horrible at these organizing things.
I'll organize it once a year or so.
But then when I listen to something, I'm those type of people who never put it back in it's originial place.
I used to have the CD case for it,but then I lost it.Eventually I gave up.
My CD's are there.Dusting away.
I usually organize my cds by rank. My most embarrassing cds are either hidden or placed at the bottom while my faves are placed at eye level so everyone can see.
Before I started buying Japanese CDs that cost me a lot of money I dodn't really care. Most of the time I lost the covers or even the CDs themselves. Now I have the Japanese CDs I bought near my music player and they are organised by artist and chronological order. I always put them back at their places when I finish listening to them. Yeah, I've become very scholastic surprisingly...
I organize my disks by artist and then by title... I always organize my things (may it be clothes, books, pictures and other stuff) so my friends tell me I'm obsessive-compulsive.

I also order my CD collection by Artist and then Title :3 If anything is out of place then I know some one used them keke -- rawr. I don't like people touching my prized CD's D: Sometimes I might order them by height / size XD;
Most of CDs are like burnt when I was younger so they're like in order of when I burnt but nowadays with the JE are in order from when they're released. =) Like K8's Kanfuu fighting, NEWS' HwM, TM's Kissu~, etc. hahaha
I do it by size (regular CD jewel case before slim jewel cases), then language-wise (Japanese first, then what little Chinese/English albums I have last), then alphabetically by artist (or if it's a Game/Anime OST, title); and then by order of release. For example:
Chage & Aska: RED HILL
Cowboy Bebop OST 1
Hamasaki Ayumi: I am...
Hamasaki Ayumi: RAINBOW
Tekken 4 OST
w-inds.: ~PRIME OF LIFE~
w-inds.: ageha
Trance Party [Volume 1]
L'Arc~en~Ciel: READY STEADY GO
And then the "special" ones (double-sized CD jewel case, limited edition that came with goods (like a poster, necklace, or photobook), or anything I have by AAA), get put in a canvas box on top of my CD rack.

my sister and i organize our cd's by genre..
anime with anime..
jdorama with jdorama...
korean with korean...
hollywood with hollywood...
and after that by date.. you see which one come first.. but if the cd's come from different artist or title like for example mj 2 so i will put that mj2 with mj 1.. so all the mj cd's will be together.. owh~ how nice..hhehehe..
and in the hollywood we organize it by genre.. horror with horror, romance with romance etc etc~~
so basically that's how i organize my stuff..
i pratically very organize.. i like my things to be organize, its easier to find them when i want to.. and it helps me safe more time ( i quite forgetful).. and i like to appreciate my cd's and stuff.. make me proud by seeing my things in one place..
