i first categorize everything by language: english, french, spanish, japanese, korean, chinese (mandarin and cantonese), indian, and filipino. i also have a separate category for soundtracks of musicals (broadway and west end), and for all music in other languages.

for those categorized by language, i have two main sections: by artist and by album (for soundtracks, etc). right now, i organize everything by title chronologically.

i like organizing things and i tend to reorganize my collections regularly. i'm currently reorganizing everything by release date. also, for artists wherein i have an exhaustive collection, i'm thinking of having three main sections for each artist: singles, albums, and concert dvds.

Urm. My way is a tad boring. :[ I organize by artist then title. If I really like a cd then it gets placed in before all the rest.

Ahh, I have a lot of music both on the computer and in CDs... on the computer it's easy, because everything is sorted by artist, album, track, alphabetically. In CDs, my organization is more haphazard. I kind of do it by musical type (style, genre), but also by my own mental connections between persons. Like, many CDs that I associate together will go in one section, many CDs that sound similar will go in one section... I also do it by when I bought the CD (if I bought two CDs at the same time, I will associate them together)...

I don't think anyone but me would be able to find anything...

I organize by genre, then by artist, then by release date. But things get out of order really quickly, so usually things are sort of in that order, but mostly just a mess. I try to be organized, but it's really hard for me!

I organise it in the order that i buy them lol - it shows the progresion of my musical tastes over my life....

On the computer, my order is in alphabetical artists and songs....i'm fussy bout the computer one....

i always organize it by artist.. but actually my cd aren't really organize most of the time.. it's everywhere.. i'm such a messy girl..

I arrange them according to their languages first like korean, japanese, chinese etc and then artist name.

For all my CDs, I organize by artist, and then by the release date. But more specifically, for Arashi, I separate their CDs into two piles, singles and albums, and then I organize by release date. I don't have that many CDs though...

But since I have so many cd's I only have the cd's I listen to the most on my wall.. the rest is in a box, and some in my brothers room since I can't fit them all in my room :S

i don't really organize CD's, 'coz i don't have that much~

but the ones i have are organized in the order that i got them..

with Arashi/JE CDs it's a completely different thing~
'coz i sorta don't organize them.
instead, i put them back to the box where it was sent.
then i take them out once in a while to listen or just stare.

I just organize them by artist

i organize mine alphabetically by 1. country of origin 2.artist 3.title, in this order.

First of all, I like to have things organized. So my CDs and cassettes (yeah, still have a whole lot of those, way more than CDs *feels so old*) are by artist, then year of release. After "Z" there are soundtracks sorted by the same pattern.
I don't organise much my mp3's because I have a hope that someday I'll have the originals If they lay around for too long (even in cakes), it bugs me and I'm promising myself I'll sort them soon.
