I followed Jun back to our room after a long hard practice. He seemed extra excited to get back. I wonder why. Once the elevator reached our floor, he dashed out and quickly went to our room. I was right behind him.
“I’m taking a shower…” he murmured after looking in the living room really quickly. When he came near to me he leaned in close. “My friend is in there sleeping…don’t bother her, alright?” he said before rushing to the bathroom to bathe. Friend? Her? I tiptoed to the living room and stopped at the door. There was a girl on the couch sleeping. She was young, and extremely cute. She was the type of girl that you just wanted to tease, pinch their cheeks, laugh at. I smiled and walked a bit closer.
She seemed so peaceful. So deep in sleep. No wonder Jun was so eager to get back. He wanted to see her. I smiled to myself. Was this someone that would bring the happiness back to him? I cocked my head. She looked really young though. But not too young, I guess. Rika was a year younger then me. Natsumi-chan is two years younger then Sho. Shina-chan’s three years younger then Captain. Ayaka-chan’s the same age as Nino and…well, who cares about age, right? If this girl can make Jun happy, and if Jun can make this girl happy, that’s all that matters.
“Is she still sleeping?” I heard Jun whisper to me. I turned around and saw him in jeans and a plain black fitted shirt, his hair still damp from the shower. I nodded. I walked towards him.
“My turn.” I gave him a knowing look before leaving to take a shower.
As warm water ran down my body, I realized that everything was starting to get back to order. Everyone was starting to be happy. Ohno’s trying to work on getting back to normal with Shina-chan. Natsumi-chan and Sho are pretty much back together, even though she can’t remember anything, and I have a feeling she won’t ever remember, like the doctors diagnosed. Jun found a girl. Nino and Ayaka-chan…they never had trouble, did they? They were the ones, throughout this whole breakdown between all of us, kept strong. They, in some terms, are our backbones. And then we can’t forget, Rika and I are getting married in…two weeks. Two weeks?! I jumped up and down, slipping on the wet floor and falling down, hitting my head against the rock walls of the shower.
“Ouch!” I cried out in pain. I shut the water off and got out, drying my body off and putting clothes on before getting excited again. “Two more weeks!” I exclaimed, of course, in a whisper. I danced around the bathroom for a minute or two before deciding to tell Jun the great news. I ran into the living room, my bare feet hitting the hard bathroom tiles with loud splats. “Jun!”
Before I said anymore, I stopped myself and smiled. The living room had a soft glow to it from a lamp on the desk. The girl was still sleeping on the couch, now on her side with her hand dangling off the couch. Jun was sitting on the floor, leaning against the couch, his head bowed down. I decided to go bother Sho, Nino, and Captain with the great news and let the two sleep.
I knocked on the door. No, I pounded on the door.
“What?!” Nino snapped, throwing the door back. I rushed into the room and right to the couch, where, in my room, a mysterious girl that made Jun happy slept.
“Guess!” I looked at Captain who sat at the desk in the swivel chair and Sho who sat on the couch next to me. Nino walked in after me with a scowl.
“You took a shower. Wonderful news.”
“No, not just that! I’m getting married in two weeks!”
“You came to brag?” Captain frowned at me. I nodded. “I’m invited right?” I nodded once again. “Yay!” he jumped up and ran over to me. I jumped up and we jumped around in a circle, cheering.
“But not just that!” I stopped, shoving Captain down to sit on the couch. Nino joined the other two.
“What?” Sho cocked his head to the side.
“There’s a girl in my room!”
“Rika-chan?” Nino asked. I shook my head.
“Shina?” Captain jumped to the edge. I shook my head.
“Terumi-chan?” I paused.
“Terumi-chan?” I asked.
“Terumi-chan?” Nino echoed.
“Terumi-chan?” Captain also echoed, but no one paid attention to.
“She’s young, cute, with Jun?” I nodded. “Jun skipped part of rehearsals to go pick her up.”
“Terumi-chan?!” Nino exclaimed. “That’s the girl he met at the hotel in Tokyo!” Sho jumped.
“You mean the girl he bumped into and stole her notebook from?!” Nino nodded.
“Wow!” they both exclaimed, leaning back into the couch, satisfied.
“Wait…I’m lost…” Captain mumbled. I nodded.
“He met a girl, and, I guess, well she’s here now.” Nino said nonchalantly. That was a good enough explanation for me.
“Do you think she’s…?” Captain said lightly. We all thought on this for a moment.
“I think so,” I smiled. “He was really eager to get back to the room. And…well, he looked happy. Truly happy.” we all sat in silence for awhile.
“I want to see her…” Captain said, jumping up.
“Terumi-chan?” Nino said.
“No, Shina. Well, yea Terumi-chan too, but Shina…” he murmured.
“Well, I want to see Rika too.”
“And Natsumi for me.”
“Ayaka…” Nino murmured.
“We’re pathetic.” Sho laughed. “Let’s go get Jun. Let’s go to dinner.” With that, the four of us walked to my room and went in. We walked quietly to the living room and saw the two sleeping soundly, right where I had left them. Sho walked up to Jun and tapped him on the head. “Jun…” he whispered. “Dinner time. Wake Terumi-chan up.”
“Yea…?” Jun woke up, rubbing his eyes. He jumped and turned around and smiled at the sight of Terumi-chan sleeping. Sho gave him a little push and thus retreated back to us. We all stood in silence and watched Jun wake up the girl. “Terumi-chan?” he said quietly. She didn’t move. “Terumi-chan,” he shook her slightly. She stirred and yawned.
“Oh!” she said, turning red at seeing Jun so close.
“Hungry? We’re going to go eat dinner.” She sat up slowly and Jun stood up. She glanced over at us and seemed shocked.
“Oh!” she said again, smiling.
“Want to come?” I asked her.
“Thank you.” she stood up, walking towards us.
“I’m Aiba Masaki.” I grinned at her.
“I’m Shiraishi Terumi,” she said while stifling a yawn. “Excuse me.”
“No problem!” I threw my arm around the girl and walked ahead of the others. I heard Jun protest to it but I ignored him. “So, Terumi-chan, how old are you?”
“Just turned twenty.” She smiled.
“Oh! So young! Jun’s a lucky man!” she laughed.
“You’re the lucky one, Aiba-san,” she looked up at me. “You found a very nice person.” I felt my face heat up and a goofy grin appear. The others caught up.
“Jun! She’s awesome!” I punched Jun in the shoulder. “I think he likes you.” I leaned down to whisper into Terumi-chan’s ear.
“No,” she laughed. I saw her sneak a glance at Jun, then at Sho. Jun’s glance seemed more passionate, curious, and Sho’s seemed nervous. I shrugged it off. From what I heard Nino saying to Sho, they’ve known each other for about a week. I wonder if they’ll end up together? Rika and I ended up together really quick after we met. So was Natsumi-chan and Sho. I wonder…
“You may now—” all sound disappeared from my world as things became slow motion. Masaki and Rika turned to each other with smiles on their faces. He leaned down and kissed her. I saw everyone stand up around me, clapping, cheering. Ayaka jumped up, pulling me along with her, and clapped happily. I looked to my left and saw Sho smiling, looking at Natsumi-chan who was by Rika as her bridesmaid. Masaki’s best man ended up being his younger brother, which was fine, that way; we didn’t have to fight for it. To his left was Shina-chan and Ohno. I glanced over to my right and saw Jun and Terumi-chan. They still haven’t gotten together, but it was bound to happen anytime soon. As soon as the two broke apart, sound came back and everything was at normal.
“Kazu…” Ayaka grinned, squeezing my hand. “I want a wedding like this someday.” I looked at her. She was so beautiful.
“Soon, Ayaka, real soon.” I smiled, wrapping my arms around her. The two happily walked down the isle. Grins on their faces. Masaki looked weird in a white suit. Rika looked beautiful in her dress. Simple and elegant. At first, just imagining Rika in a dress was weird, but actually seeing her in one, it’s totally different. I imagined Ayaka in a dress and with just the thought, my heart raced.
“Look! The dance is starting,” she pulled me, following the others, to the open grass field where Renji, all dressed up in a suit, started playing his song. It was a classic song, but I couldn’t think of what it was. Ayaka spun around and faced me. I took her left hand in my right and placed my left hand on her side and started moving to the music, grins on both of our faces. I looked over her shoulder and saw Sho on his knee, asking Natsumi-chan for dance. I remember hearing just a few days after the tour ended that they had gotten back together. Sho told me that he was never going to let her go, no matter what. I also heard, from Rika, that Senri had stopped talking to Natsumi-chan after she had left him at the hospital. Now, even when she talks to him, he ignores her. I laughed at that. It’ll take awhile, I guess, until he heals. Shuu had congratulated them and had, actually, been exchanged to a team in America. He did have a five year contract, but Shinzuka-san wanted him to have the best experience while he was young. Ultimately, it was Shuu’s decision, and he took the offer.
Renji had produced another album in Japan and now is headed back to America for a few months to do some concerts and commercials. He had also told Rika that he needed a vacation from Japan, but promised to return after three months. So, during those three months, Rika was to have her honeymoon, train Ayaka and together, put out Senri’s first single.
I turned a little more to see that Masaki had picked Rika up and spun her around, not even caring about the music or the others around him. He was yelling that it was the happiest day in his life, to finally be able to say that he was Rika’s husband. As I turned, I saw Ohno and Shina-chan dancing while Ramen ran around them in circles wagging her tail. Then, my eyes landed on Jun dancing with Terumi-chan.
“Do you think those two will ever get together?” I pulled Ayaka into my arms and spun around so she could look over my shoulder at Jun and Terumi-chan. She laughed, resting her head on my shoulder.
“I think I overheard lover boy going over a plan…”
There were a lot of people here. Many JE members, some people from our TV shows and Masaki’s variety shows. I’m not sure if my eyes were tricking me, but I think I saw a chimp run across the field.
“Renji-kun has a great voice,” Ayaka sighed into my ear. I nodded. “Are you going to sing a song?” I nodded. I had written a song just for the two. I glanced at them. They had stopped spinning and were now laughing while moving slowly, like normal people, to the music. I hugged Ayaka closer, feeling her heart beat sync in with mine. As Renji’s ballad came to an end, the loud rock music blared and he switched his acoustic with his electric.
I pulled Ayaka away from the loud music and the crowd.
“Where are we going?” she asked as the music dimmed out in the background. We were in Okinawa for some reason. I think it was where Rika was born or something. I just know there’s something special to Okinawa that made them choose this amazing place for their wedding spot. I kept walking, pulling Ayaka behind me. It was hot. The sun shining down on me with a black suit. Ayaka was lucky, she wore a sleeveless light blue colored dress. She looked astonishing, I must say. A few more feet and the ocean appeared in front of us. I bent down and took off my shoes and socks and gestured Ayaka to do the same with her sandals. “Are you going to tell me?” I smiled at her and shook my head. I left my shoes there and walked onto the white, hot, sand. Ayaka right behind.
“Don’t you love the water?” I asked, smelling the sea salt.
“I do.” Ayaka ran in front of me, spreading her arms out wide, letting the wind carry her hair behind her. I ran up to her, hugging her from behind.
“I love you.” I whispered into her back. She didn’t hear me, but that’s ok with me. I grabbed her hand and walked on the wet sand, parallel to the ocean. “Where do you want to get married?”
“There’s this park,” she smiled shyly. “I…sort of want to get married there.”
“What’s it called?” I smiled at her shyness.
“Amagoe Kouen,” she smiled. “You write heaven and voice…” she explained. I nodded. I still didn’t know where it was. “It’s…well, it’s near my parents, and brother’s, cemetery.”
“Oh,” I nodded, satisfied. I felt for her. She wanted to have her wedding near her family. So, they would, a bit far but near enough, be able to participate.
“But, we don’t have to!” she quickly said. “I know it’s too much to ask for, and it’s not right to have a wedding near a cemetery…” I shook my head.
“No, it’s perfectly fine,” I squeezed her hand. We had stopped walking. I looked into her eyes. “I want to get married there. I want to be close to your family,” I paused and looked up at the sky before continuing. “That reminds me, I still haven’t gone to introduce myself, have I?” Ayaka smiled and hugged me tightly.
“I love you, Kazu.” I hugged her back.
“I love you too.”
The next day, all eleven of us, Ramen and Terumi-chan included, went to visit Jun-chan after leaving Okinawa after a long night talk about how Jun-chan might feel left out. Masaki had insisted that we all stay in what we had worn to the wedding, which meant Rika was still in her wedding dress, which made her a little frustrated.
“We need to show Jun-chan how amazing we look!” he argued. In the end, we gave in.
“Hey, Jun-chan,” I heard Jun say softly once we arrived. He glanced back at Terumi-chan. “You’re right.” He grinned, shying away from the tombstone. Masaki and Rika went up and showed themselves off. While they did that, I went over to Terumi-chan.
“Jun-chan, Itou Junko, she was—” Terumi-chan nodded.
“I know,” she smiled. “Jun-kun told me all about her,” she smiled warmly. “I think it’s wonderful that all of you are such amazing friends,” she looked at Jun who sniffled to himself.
“Go comfort him,” I pushed her towards him. She smiled at me and went over to Jun and nudged him slightly. He turned to her and she hugged him.
We got kicked out of the cemetery at eight. A guard came by and yelled at us for being loud and disturbing. We all left, satisfied that Jun-chan wasn’t left out. We went through the whole wedding once again. Sho was the priest, Jun was the best man, Ayaka the bridesmaid this time, and the rest of us watched.
After changing into normal clothes, Ayaka and I said our goodbyes and returned home to where Nari waited for us.
“He asked her out, you know?” Ayaka said.
“What?! Really?! When?” I burst out, shocked, amazed, that I had not known.
“The night of the wedding. He took her to the beach and they were talking. He told her ahead of time about Jun-chan and she was accepting. She told him that her dad is making her go back to China for a few months. At first, the only thing that was holding Jun-kun back from asking her out was Sho-kun, I think. He said that Terumi-chan was a big fan of Sho-kun, but she made it clear that she admired him for what he does, but she likes Jun-kun, and only him.”
“How did you know?” Ayaka gave me a sly smile.
“I have connections,” she laughed when I gave her an exasperated look. “Jun-kun told me,” she nodded. I felt upset, slightly, that Jun would tell her before me. “He told me that she has to leave tomorrow. He told me she was going to talk to her dad about moving here. She has family here so it shouldn’t be a problem. But if she can’t, Jun-kun said that he’d make sure either he goes there, or she comes here, at least once a month.”
“That’d cost a lot though…” I mumbled.
“Jun-kun’s paying…” I smiled.
“What a dedicated man.”
“He said that Jun-chan told him that she was the one. Terumi-chan was the one that would make him happy.”
“…and she was right…”
“When it comes to Jun-kun, Jun-chan’s always going to be right.” I nodded.
We arrived home quite soon and Nari, who was now full grown and very handsome, greeted us with a loud meow.
“Nari!” I swooped down and picked him up while I ran towards the couch and plopped down, the big cat in my arms. “I missed you!” I kissed him. Ayaka walked in behind and took Nari from me and sat down next to me on the couch. We sat in silence, other then Nari’s loud purr. I felt, at this time, that life couldn’t get any worse or any better. Everything was back to being close to normal. Everyone happy. I gazed at Ayaka and Nari. The only thing I could see for our future was more happiness, as a couple, and as a family.
The End

dear yoshimaru,
you did a fantastic, absolutely amazing job! there are points are would like to point out to you though and which may interest you.
what i like in your story:
suspense + drama >>>you sure know how to keep your readers at the edge of their seats, i sacrificed 30 hrs to read your fic which i think is worth it, though i am pretty sleepy now
romantic scenes>>>> if not 100% perfect it's 99.99%
the jun visits junko scene >>> i cried...i was sooooooo moved.
the aiba+rika marriage announcement>>>>priceless
renji asking arashi when they marry>>>>sensational
overall story plot>>>>really impressive, delivery is wonderful and creative esp this chapter where it is expressed through different people's POV (i love the part where aiba lectures sho about fighting your gf back from your love rival, in this case, renji, when aiba said 'welcome home' to rika i was like KYAAAAAAAAAAAA~~~ EXCELLENT! you dunno how love my smile glued onto my face XD)
character depiction>>> i find you using characters other than arashi very creative and they are used to max potential, the members' respective gfs' are thoughtfully chosen and described as well as romance rivals and the characters' respective emotionally and physical developement ( i like how you stated nino's character, like divided him from his real to TV character, really nice)
humor>>>what can i say other than i laughed non-stop at the hilarious parts. (esp. rika+aiba +arashi pranks and jokes<<<3333>>>nothing beats a happy ending!
areas i think can be improved:
riida's character>>> you did a splendid job in describing riida always spacing out yet, i see no particular strong emphasis in his artistic and fishing-loving nature. i 'm not saying you must, but i just felt it a pity that it was left out.
aiba's character>>>does he really have a big ego? i dunno....i really don't know him very well except he's a total baka and childish which is extremely well put out
terumi's character>>> i dunno whether you are too tired towards the end or what but her character seems not fully completed? jun's DoS>>> ohhh, i wish you could've put some more DoS elements nino's pair story part>>> i understand they kind of are like the backbone..... but i was hoping for some turbulance like something experienced by the other members but then again, that might make it too dramatic.... i guess i'm thinking too much?
names>>> aside from rika who called aiba deliberately aiba masaki, i think there's something wrong with the characters calling each other, like nino calls ohno, o chan or riida (this kinds of bugs me but then i'm quite picky)
thoughts on previous chapters:
aiba's>>>> to be honest , your's is the first aiba fic i read and you changed my view of aiba. i think it was wise of you to write aiba's first because he kind of acts as a spice of laughter throughout hte series and we can see his character development as the story progresses
sho's>>>>i was first intimidated by the title because i anticipated it to be a sad ending but when i finally got the courage to read it i realised the need to slap myself. I LOVE THIS CHAPTER!!! sho is depicted very very very nicely here (i can tell because i read a lot of sho fanfic before)
jun's>>> ahhh~ it just brings the sweet side of him doesn't it. a pleasant chapter and a very moving one too ...
nino's>>>creative like i said before, i thought the girl's background i but corny but quickly corrected myself, it's ok.
ohno's>>>i somehow think it's a bit unnecessarily long though the extra length kind of ties put all the previous chapter. love ramen! when i first heard the name i ROFL and whe i found the word play you used with 'ramen' and that the dog was a girl....seriously sensational!!!
that's all i got to say. i thoroughly enjoyed this series. i really do. it's really good.
until next time~~~(i'm going to really enjoy your other stories)
cheers,
jl2020
PS how about thinking of writing a MAOU fanfic? heehee~
