My True Friend


Little Ohno Satoshi and his little friend Nino was best friends since the school year started. They always come to school together, they go home together, they share their problems to each other, and they also share their food together. They were always happy being together. But then one day Nino went to school, but he did not notice Ohno outside, the classes was about to begin in 10 minutes but Ohno was not there yet so Nino decided not to wait for Ohno anymore. Then he was just right on time when the classes started.

During the class Nino noticed that Ohno was already in the classroom, he thought that maybe Ohno went to school earlier than him. Then Ohno looked at him and gave him a smile, as a return Nino also gave a smile to Ohno.

At recess time Ohno approached Nino on his table then Ohno said, “Gomenasai Nino-kun I was not able to wait for you at the gate this morning”.

Nino shook his head with a smile then he said, “It’s ok Ohno-kun don’t worry about me”.

Then they ate their snacks happily together, but after a few minutes there were 3 kids who approached them, then Ohno forgot to introduce his new friends, “Ah… Nino-kun meet my new friends; Jin, Toma, and Shun”.

“Ah… Ohayo Gozaimasu, nice to meet you” Said Nino happily.

“Nice to meet you too Nino-kun” The 3 chorused sarcastically.

“Nino-kun, uhmm… eh…” Ohno do not know how to ask Nino.

“What is it Ohno-kun?” Nino replied with a happy voice.

“Nino-kun, I will not be able to go home with you today” Ohno said with hesitation.

Nino shook his head and said, “It’s ok Ohno-kun we still have many days left to go home together neh?”.

“Hai!” Ohno said unsurely.

Then after their class they separated happily and then Nino-kun walked alone to his house, but while he was walking he was wondering if Ohno got a new good friends or a bad friends that may cause Ohno a problem, but he was confident that they were a good ones.

Many days have past but Ohno has no connection with Nino anymore, Ohno was not talking with Nino anymore in the school. Nino was worried on what is happening with Ohno lately, he said to himself, “I hope he would not have any trouble or problem”.

Day after day after class Nino goes to a nearby playground. He talk to himself really worried about Ohno, but he also try to think that one day they will be friends again.

Suddenly one day Nino heard that Ohno was included in a fight… After hearing the news he then ran as fast as he can to the principal’s office.

Outside the principal’s office he saw the friends of Ohno, he decided to greet them “Ah… Konnichiwa”.

“Good Luck, Ganbatte”, they said sarcastically and with laughter.

Nino then ignored the 3 and just went inside the principal’s office. He then was just in time before the punishment for Ohno was given. He tried to speak with the principal to left Ohno explain.

The principal said angrily, “What? The 3 already told that Ohno was the one who started it”.

I replied, “But please let him explain on what really happened”.

Then the principal asked, “Why are you so desperate to help Ohno”.

“It is because Ohno is my friend” Nino replied without hesitation.

After hearing those words the principal suddenly become quiet, then after a few minutes the principal decided to let Ohno explain what really happened.

Then Ohno started to narrate what had really happened. He told who really started it, why did it start, and gave every information to their principal. Finally after a few minutes Ohno was able to finish his narration on what really happened. The principal then paused for a while, then the 2 were dismissed by the principal and the 3 boys were called inside.

After a few minutes standing outside they started to walk together in the school corridor. Nino was delighted that finally they are together again, then he whispered, “You know Ohno-kun I am happy because we are walking together again”.

Ohno smiled and said, “I also missed this, Arigatou Gozaimasu Nino-kun”.

Then they continued to walk while talking about what they were doing when they were not together. After a few minutes they heard that someone was running behind them from a far… Nino turned back and saw that Jin, Toma, and Shun was chasing them, they tried to run as fast as they can just not to be chased or caught by the 3. Finally Nino and Ohno lost them in a few minutes, they decided to stop running and decided to go to a playground.

At the playground they sat in a different swing but after they sat, they begun to be quiet but Nino decided to spoke.

Nino smiled and asked, “Ikaga desu ka Ohno-kun?”.

Ohno nodded and said, “genki desu”.

“Sou ka” Nino replied.

They become silent again but with a smile on their faces filled with happiness.

This time Ohno was the one who spoke, “You know Nino-kun I thought I would be punished… and also I thought that those 3 were good but I was wrong about them, gomenasai”.

“Why are you sating sorry? It is just natural that everyone can make or commit mistakes neh?” Nino replied with a cheerful voice.

After Ohno heard those words, tears started to fall from his cheeks. He said, “I though after that incident, I won’t have any friends anymore”.

“But you always knew that I am always here to help you right?” Nino said sarcastically.

Then they both laughed, Nino grab a handkerchief from his pocket and decided to wipe little Ohno’s wet face.

Ohno said, “Arigatou Gozaimasu for helping me in my problem”.

Nino smiled and replied, “Daijoubu”.

“You know Nino-kun, You really are…” Little Ohno said happily but he paused.

“Eh?...” Little Nino was curious but then he smiled with happiness.

Ohno continued…, “My True Friend”.
