Gackt is really good, as well as Utada Hikaru. I think she is just the best singer ever. In the world. lol. Chieco Kawabe is pretty good. For just a really amazing flowing voice I would say Hajime Chitose.

I've always love Mongol800 and Def Tech, I think it's the music...listening to their music makes my mood higher. So for the newer band, I'll go with Orange Range and Greeeen. Though I also listen to Utada Hikaru and Amie Namuro from time to time

After Arashi on my list of "OMG BEST ARTIST IN THE WORLD [IMO]" list, is the amazing [in my opinion] Gackt.

I cannot get enough of that guy...
He's so dedicated to his career of an entertainer and I totally admire him for that.

Besides from Johnny's (Arashi, KinKi, TxT, NEWS, V6, KAT-TUN, Kanjani8) I like..

YUI (some people say she has a childish voice still I love her)
Ayumi Hamasaki (who doesnt?^^)
Ayaka (WONDERFUL voice, "mikazuki" is the best song!)
Utada Hikaru (LOVE her voice)
EXILE (maybe not all their songs but they have some that are really good)
Remioromen (fell in love when I heard their songs in 1 litre of tears)
ZONE (They have split up.. still love their music)

im really into jpop music listen to it everyday but i also like certain japanese music from anime like the bleach and naruto opening songs. im really bad i can;t remember them sorry. but i do like Utada Hikaru;s song first love from tackey's drama. its such a lovely and sad song.

I really enjoy listening to Utada Hikaru. She has a really nice voice and also she sings in English too. Which I understand and don't need translations to English hahah.

japanese music right?
if it doesn't have to be a j-pop with someone singing... honestly, the one that caught me to japanese music is actually anime and game's bgm smile

I always love yoko kanno's and yasunori mitsuda's composed musics
but I doubt many people in this forum know them??... then I'll give some j-pop musics I liked:
-kawabe chieco (some of her song)
-uverworld (nice instrument, nice voice!!)
-crystal kay (some of her song)
-bump of the chicken
-rie fu (is she not japanese? but the music is japanese, right?)

anyway, non of them (except rie fu, perhaps) have more space than arashi in my musical heart... big grin

I didn't know Orange Range were so popular ^^ I got into them after watching Orange Days and wanted to learn the sign language. Superfun YEI~!

I don't think anyone mentioned Shiina Ringo..? She's fabulous and quirky. She's release some of her own stuff and as part of Tokyo Jihen (Tokyo Incidents). Her solo/collaboration album for Sakuran is incredible. I love it to bits.

Hrn, I guess mostly anime themes often lead me to bands eg Rythem did a song for Yakitate Japan and Naruto. Other than that, a little bit of Ayumi Hamasaki, Kinki Kids and MoMusu, although I like watching their silly programs more :P

i also like utada hikari i love her voice the first song i heard from her was simple and clean when i was playing kingdom hearts i also like passion (japanese and english verisons) from kingdom hearts 2

i like aiko, ayaka, EXILE (the lead singer's voice is very very good!), GReeeeN, L'Arc〜en〜Ciel, Mr. Children, Superfly, V6, Kobukuro, Ai Otsuka and Hatsune Okumura!
