Chapter 38 - Day 1 on Jeju Island
After Aiba's rather unforgettable exit from the kitchen, Sho stalked off to his own room to change. Clearly, Jun had thought of everything to get the two of them together. After arriving at the house, Sho found a note posted to the door and he shifted Aiba who was getting a free piggy back ride (asleep as usual) so he could read it grab it without dropping him.
The first thing the note said was that Sho was supposed to take Aiba to the room that he'd been sleeping in 6 years ago. According to the note, it was the only room in the house that hadn't been renovated. Sho decided to put Aiba in bed before continuing with the rest of Jun's instructions.
When he was sure Aiba was well settled in, Sho left his room and resumed reading the letter. The next thing he was supposed to do was change into clothes similar to the ones he was wearing when he fell from the tree and of course, Jun had them already laid out and prepared on his bed.
Sho pulled on the thin grey sweatpants and the white muscle shirt before he surveyed his reflection in the mirror. This was exactly how he'd looked when he'd gone orange picking that day... except he was missing the white bandana that he'd had wrapped around his head. He'd leave that for later.
Now all he had left to do was get Aiba to come out and pick fruit with him.
---------------------
I still can't believe I was wondering how big Sho was down there... I mean what the hell is wrong with me? Why am I thinking about that? And why do I have some sort of vague idea as to the size of it?!! Aiba's naughty thoughts thundered through his head as he continued to beat the pillow with his fists. He'd been at this for the last hour since he gave up giggling like a crazy fan girl and was trying to push the image of naked Sho out of his mind.
There was a light knocking at the door and Aiba rolled off his bed in surprise. "Aiba? Are you busy in there?" He heard Sho call from the other side of the door. Leaping to his feet Aiba replied, "No..." and stood, staring at the door. "Well, can I come in or can you come out?" Sho asked, his fingers drumming against the door knob. In three quick strides Aiba was at the door, his hand hesitated at the knob as he tried to slow his breathing before opening the door.
Sho stood before him, holding a bucket in each hand. He held one up, "You wanna come fruit picking with me?" he asked, smiling. Aiba's heart melted at the smile. It was the first time he'd ever seen Sho smiling like that. He nodded his head, at a loss for words. "Great! Here's your bucket," Sho said handing one of them to Aiba before leading him out of the house and into the back yard.
---------------------
For Aiba, all of this seemed vaguely farmiliar. Not the fruit picking, he'd done that plenty of times here at the house and in public orchards. It was being outside, plucking oranges with Sho that seemed farmiliar. But he'd never done it before, at least, not that he remembered.
Aiba had accepted the fact that he'd had some sort of past relationship with Sho, only that he couldn't remember any of it. That was why he didn't freak out whenever he had some sort of deja vu feeling around Sho, since it's probably because he'd already done it before. He sighed as he plucked more oranges off the branches, resting his body against the trunk of the tree.
A few trees away, Aiba could see Sho swinging like a monkey between branches as he tried to get fruit that was out of his reach. He was too lazy to keep moving the ladder around the tree just for a few oranges. While watching Sho, a little alarm shot through him, like he knew something bad was going to happen...but what? What could possibly go wrong?
And that's when he heard the ear splitting snap as the branch Sho was swinging on broke and he fell to the ground. Oranges spilling across the ground in his wake. Aiba didn't even have time to think. His body moved on it's own, it was a reflex he had no control over. The next thing he knew he was rolling the branch off of Sho's chest and slapping his cheeks lightly as he kneeled at his side.
He propped Sho up slightly so that his head was cradled in the crook of his arm. "Sho-kun? Sho-kun? Are you okay? Can you hear me?" Aiba asked when Sho's eyes fluttered open and closed again. He kept calling Sho's name, his voice growing shriller and more panicked when Sho didn't respond. This is exactly what happened the last time... Sho thought to himself as he listened to Aiba calling him, feeling the smooth touch of his fingers against his cheek. Maybe all this was enough to make him remember...but it wasn't good to get his hopes up either.
Sho opened his eyes slowly and was met with a set of teary, dark brown eyes staring back at him. "Sho-kun?" Aiba asked and Sho responded with a half-hearted groan. "How many fingers am I holding up?" Aiba asked as he held up four. Sho tried hard not to smile, he knew what was going to happen after he answered, "Four?" he saw how Aiba's face changed from worried to...a higher level of worry. "Four? Four? Oh no! You're vision...or maybe your brain has been damaged from your fall. Oh Sho-kun!" Aiba cried but stopped when he felt Sho's hand close around his wrist. "Aiba," Sho said, "Look how many fingers you're holding up, count them out loud." Aiba looked at his hand and counted, "1,2,3...4" He blushed embarrased and was suddenly very aware of Sho's touch.
"Uh...Sho-kun? Can you stand?" Aiba asked after his embarrassment had flushed away. Sho nodded, "I think I can." With Aiba's help, Sho got to his feet, and the two of them walked slowly up to the house, Aiba carrying his buckets of fruit with him.

Author's Note Gah, I'm cutting this chapter short since my internet is being unbelievably stupid at present. Is it normal for it to cut out on a desktop computer the same way it does with a laptop?
But yeah, that was Day 1 on Jeju Island, and remember, for some unknown reason, Sho and Aiba are going to be staying there longer than 3 days...even though at first it was only 3 days. You'll understand what I mean when we get to day 3
Don't misunderstand the wink... it doesn't mean something good will happen neccessarily. I like to keep you guys on your toes. All I can say is be prepared...
That's all for now, and as you all know, I tend to update everyday since I have no job or life till school starts again so you won't have to wait too long for day 3
bye bye *gets back to wedding planning with Aiba* yes, Aiba's helping plan the wedding. you'll come to that chapter eventually XD

Chapter 39 - End of Day 1 & Day 2 on Jeju Island
After getting Sho to the house, Aiba ordered him to rest in bed while he went about making platters of fruit snacks (this is what he did the last time it happened). He'd picked buckets of oranges and peaches and after making sure Sho was in bed, and stayed in bed, he went to go pick some apples.
The kitchen was like some sort of fruit stand. There were buckets of fresh fruit on the counter, surrounded by sliced peaches piled with cream as well as orange peels...tons of orange peels. At present Aiba was at the blender making some sort of orange colored concoction. He turned off the blender and poured a little into a glass to taste. He swished it around in his mouth thoughtfully before swallowing, "Needs more peaches!" he exclaimed as he grabbed one from the bucket and started peeling and slicing it.
Sho smiled to himself as he lay on his bed, staring up at the ceiling. He could hear Aiba working up a fruity storm in the kitchen as the blender went to work once again. Everything that had happened today was exactly the way it had happened 6 years ago (yes, even the whole naked Sho in shower thing...that happened 6 years ago, except Sho didn't know about that). He didn't want to get his hopes up because he didn't want to be disappointed if things didn't work out well. If Aiba didn't remember him, it was fine...after all, he wanted Aiba to forget him in the first place didn't he?
---------------------
After a final taste test, Aiba was satisfied with his creation and poured some into a glass to take to Sho. He also grabbed a bowl of peaches and cream that he'd made before leaving the messy kitchen behind.
He knocked on the door lightly before opening it. Sho was laying on his bed, already asleep (he didn't have any sleep since his short lived nap in the car), a smile pasted to his face. Aiba set his tray down on the bedside table and dragged a chair to the bed side. He watched Sho, fascinated. Could he really have been mine? Really mine? Aiba wondered to himself as he rocked in his chair quietly.
---------------------
Sho attempted to roll to his back only to realize there was something preventing him from doing so, and that something also had it's arms wrapped around his waist. Sho remained where he was, he didn't move, he didn't breathe. He felt Aiba's warm breath against the back of his neck and was very, very aware of how close Aiba's hand was to his lower half. Laying like this, it was just like the way things were before. Whenever they slept, at some point in the night, Sho would always find that Aiba had his arms wrapped around him, or his hand wrapped in his.
He hesitated before carefully lifting up Aiba's arm and shifting slightly so that he could roll over and pull Aiba into his own arms. He rested his head on top of the mass of chocolate brown hair and breathed deeply. It was a scent that he would never be able to forget; a scent that could only be related to Aiba and nothing else. As he held Aiba in his arms like this, his heart began to ache.
When first coming here, he didn't mind if Aiba remembered him or not in the end, since it would take a miracle to recall all those memories after some stay on an island. It was too cliche, too unbelievable. It was the type of thing that only happened in movies or dramas. But now, as Sho was beginning to relive everything that had happened before on Jeju Island, he was beginning to hurt badly. As he was reliving the time Aiba first fell in love with him, as he was starting to bond with him again, the pain was too much for him now.
Sho couldn't accept that he was now just a faded image in Aiba's memory and his tears streaked across his face as he clutched Aiba closer to his chest.

Author's Note This is rather short isn't it? Well, I got a little depressed as I wrote out Sho's thoughts on things and couldn't go on writing since I started crying again.
Some of you guys may wonder why I was sad, but from my perspective, since I'm writing it and thinking it through before writing it out...I get a little emotional since I'm trying to imagine what the character is feeling, anyway, that's it for now
oh and day 3 won't be posted next. the next chapter will also be short but it'll be about everyone else in the story (Ohno, Nino. Yuki, Jun, etc.) and what they're doing right now since someone asked me what Ohmiya is up to in Hawaii and how's Yuki-chan doing now since we last saw her in the hospital.

--------->I know I said it was about everyone else in the chapter but I had to add in a little something that I couldn't put in the next chapter. It's basically continued from Sho's crying at the end of the last chapter. Sakuraiba in this chapter won't be long though.
Chapter 40 - Attempts of Comic Relief and a Sad Development
Sho couldn't accept that he was now just a faded image in Aiba's memory and his tears streaked across his face as he clutched Aiba closer to his chest.
Aiba POV
I stirred awake when I heard the slow steady thudding in my ear and the wetness that began to stain my hair. Sho-kun's body trembled slightly, his arms wrapped around me. It didn't bother me really. I knew full well that whenever I was in bed with pretty much anyone or anything, I would end up holding onto them, and they would end up holding me. This however, it was different, Sho was crying...I didn't know why, but if holding me seemed to make him better then there was nothing I could do.
I remained motionless as he held me and cried silently. My head was to his chest, and I could hear his heart beating, slow and steady and in time with mine. I found this unusual...yet vaguely farmiliar.
....My heart beats for you, and your heart beats for mine ne? Those words echoed in my head and I blinked in surprise. The voice that spoke those words was mine...but who was I thinking about that now?
Sho had stopped trembling by this point and was playing with my hair. I snuggled in closer to him and sighed, and I felt him stiffen then relax. I smiled to myself and we spent pretty much the whole day and night in one another's arms....it felt nice.

Hawaii: Ohno & Nino
It was already the mid-afternoon of their third day in Hawaii, and Ohno was still in bed; tired and exhausted. After the candlelight dinner on the beach that Nino thought he'd planned last night (in reality, he wasn't the type of person to come up with these things, it was all Jun's doing). Nino had thanked him with countless hours of blissful play in the sheets.
Even though they'd only been here for a short time, the trip had done wonders for Nino. He was rather happy and bouncy (much like Aiba usually was) and hadn't played with his DS as much as usual. Everyday, they'd be out snorkeling and playing on their own private area of the beach. (Ohno had fallen asleep and Nino burried him with sand). But not today, Ohno was too exhausted to even move...damn that Kazu... Ohno thought to himself.
"Satoshi? Satoshi?! Wake up!!!" Nino called out in a sing-song voice. Ohno groaned and ignored him, at least tried to ignore him. It was hard since Nino started jumping on the bed singing "A.RA.SHI" just like he and the other's had done years ago.
Ohno opened his eyes slightly and Nino was jumping high holding a set of flippers in his hand, he was at the chorus of the song. "Ah!!! Kazu stop it!!! Let me sleep!!" he cried before grabbing a pillow and pulling it over his face. Nino stopped singing and fell to his knees beside his sleeping partner, but he continued bouncing about. "Satoshi! We're supposed to go snorkeling now! I was only kidding when I told you that sharks were going to get you if you snorkeled by yourself! Come on..." Nino kept bouncing and singing until Ohno sat up and shoved the pillow in Nino's face.
"God, can't you sit still for a minute? What are you a child?" Ohno asked as he grudgingly pulled himself out of bed. Nino grinned wickedly, “I'm only a child on the inside Satoshi, otherwise what we did last night would be a crime."

Japan: Hana and Yuki
Hana sat drumming her fingers on the table of Yuki's room, waiting for her to come back. When she'd come in to visit today, Yuki wasn't there. Hana figured she was having another treatment.
The door slid open and a young nurse was startled to find Yuki's look-alike in the room. "Ah, excuse me, do you know when Morohashi Yuki will be done treatment today?" The nurse stared back at her shocked, "I'm sorry...didn't you know about Morohashi-san?" Hana stared back at her, confused and shook her head. The nurse gave a small smile and said, "Morohashi-san is no longer with us."
---------------------
Undisclosed Location: Jun and Nana
It was late at night and Nana was sitting at her laptop, doing the work she'd been missing because of her impromptu vacation with Jun. The keys clicked slightly as she typed away from the corner of their bedroom. It was amazing how many various houses or apartments Jun had all over the world, and she began to wonder how many other girls had been here before her. In a moment of jealous frustration, she bashed the space key with her first and a startled snort came from Jun who was asleep on the bed.
She hesitated for a moment, wondering if she'd disturbed his rest. But when Jun started to snore lightly again she started to work again, reminding herself that she was here with Jun now. Not any other girls....or guys. Of course Nana knew Jun's history with Aiba as well as the relationships that existed between the members. And, she felt sad and horrible about the whole situation between Sho and Aiba. She knew from the other members that they've had to struggle throughout their whole relationship. Aiba keeping his past relationship from Jun a secret. Aiba getting sick and Sho feeling guilty. Then Sho leaving the country and Aiba getting amnesia. It was really sad when you think about it.
All this thinking about Sho and Aiba made Nana rather depressed so she put her laptop on sleep mode and crept back to bed. The light at her side was still on and before she turned it off and got into bed, she saw how Jun had a rather big grin on his face and she wondered what he was dreaming about. "Oh-chan..." Jun mumbled, grin still on his face. Ohno? He's dreaming happily about Ohno? Nana wondered bewildered. She watched him closely as his grin faded and his brow furrowed. "No...no..." he mumbled in his sleep. Nana stared at him again, her resting her chin on her pillow. She wondered what suddenly made him upset.
"Oh-chan! Kiss me! Don't Kiss Nino!!!!" Jun cried and was jerked awake when Nana slapped him in the face with her pillow and shut off the light angrily.

Author's Note I've written this after arriving in Whitehorse and I hope it will last you guys till I get to Edmonton then home. Thanks so much for your support and well wishes. They're greatly appreciated. My aunt is expected to make a full recovery, but it will be a long one since she was hurt pretty bad, and at her age, she doesn't heal as quick. Thanks so much for having her and me in your thoughts and prayers. Arigatou
As for the meaning of the title, well you know which one's are attempts at comic relief and I'm guessing you'll be able to figure out the sad development part.
And as for the inspiration for Jun's last phrase in the story, it came from my avatar. I was staring at it while writing and just had to include it somewhere.
